Seal in Blood
Throughout history, there has been a choice presented to several people:
In the early days of ancient Israel (accounted for several times in the bible), the people have been given a choice to denounce their faith or face death. They could easily say, "alright, I wont believe in that anymore", something that simple and avoid any consequences. Or they could stay firm and choose what they know to be true and face the risks.
In the early days of Christianity there were very similar choices that had to be made. Deny Christianity and live, or face death. As we know many of the early apostles in the New Testament stood firm and were murdered because of their firm decisions.
President Abraham Lincoln made the decision to publish the Emancipation Proclamation which would make several enemies and eventually cost him his life. But he did it anyway because he knew it was right. He easily could have not done it, avoided any risk, and lived a much longer life. But he stood strong despite the risks.
Life presents this choice in various forms. We can lie back and hide in our comforts, or we can face our the risks and stand for what we know to be true. We have to ask ourselves, what fights are worth our lives? Are you willing to take the truths you know to be of great value and seal them with your blood?
