Conquering Fear

I recall many times, even today when I face a churn in my stomach. It doesn't feel good, it feels sometimes like I am sick. But it's because I am nervous. I dislike this feeling a lot and sometimes even get mad at myself for feeling that way. I often ask myself, "Why are you feeling that way for something so petty?" Because often times the reason can seem quite minor. But it was important enough that I would get nervous about it. So it mattered to me. So what was to be done?

There was a phrase I heard recently that I liked. It goes something along the lines of "learn to turn you nerves into excitement". That idea struck me as gold. What if every time you got nervous you could feel excitement instead? I despised the feeling of nervousness and loved the feeling of excitement so this idea was enjoyable. But how do I do that?

As I said before, most of the times nerves appear before events that seem quite minor. If you take a step back and see the big picture, you can see the event as an opportunity. And the excitement can stem from the successful opportunity. So by stepping back and looking at the big picture, you can let excitement overcome the fear. Don't let fear hold you back from the great opportunities in front of you. Take that step.
